On the same grounds as where we find the Whale Sharks, we find schooling sailfish hunting for bait balls of sardines.
This phenomenon occurs in the wintertime, specifically between November and March, with peak season being December, January and February.
This is a higher-adrenaline experience when compared to the Whale Shark experience since the bait balls often move and it is necessary to swim along.
Sometimes we are lucky and run into the much sought after (Specially by photographers) “static bait balls”, which are situations when the sailfish form a circle around the bait ball and stay in the same location.
